Команда «Шкода» официально подтвердила, что на ралли Великобритания в ее составе выступит чемпион мира 1995 года Колин МакРей. Штурманом у шотландца будет его бывший партнер Ники Грист. Последний раз МакРей выступал в чемпионате мира два года назад. И было это именно в Уэльсе, где шотландец за рулем «Ситроена» финишировал на четвертом месте.

Перед британским этапом чемпионата мира 37-летнего МакРея ждет интенсивная тестовая программа. Кстати, с автомобилем «Шкода Фабиа WRC» МакРей уже знаком — в октябре прошлого года он уже испытывал эту машину.

«Так как я не участвовал в чемпионате мира с Ралли Великобритании 2003 года, „Шкода“ организовывает тесты, которые дадут мне возможность привыкнуть к „Фабии“ и настроить машину под мой стиль пилотирования, — говорит МакРей. — Это также позволит мне и Ники вновь сработаться друг с другом».
