Глава Международной федерации автоспорта Макс Мосли предложил серию революционных нововведений в правила автогонок, которые полностью изменят королеву автоспорта.

Мосли хочет, чтобы Формула-1 концентрировалась не столько на технологиях, сколько на равных возможностях. Он предлагает разрешить использовать общие для всех детали, сократить неограниченное расходование денег и серьезно сократить скорость к 2008 году.

«Нельзя, чтобы успех можно было просто купить», — заявил президент Международной федерации автоспорта (FIA), руководящей Формулой-1.

«Нам нужны правила, которые позволят умным, но недостаточно обеспеченным командам побеждать компетентных, но более богатых соперников», — добавил он.

Мосли изложил все свои предложения в документе, который предоставил на рассмотрения всех участников. Новые правила предполагается ввести в 2008 году, по окончании контрактов, связывающих большинство команд с Формулой-1.

Среди его предложений:

  • Разрешить независимым командам покупать «автомобили целиком или любые части автомобилей у других конструкторов», чтобы позволить небольшим командам экономить крупные суммы на разработке и производстве болидов.
  • Вернуться к механическим коробкам передач и полностью запретить системы автоматического контроля пробуксовывания (traction control), чтобы гораздо больше в гонке зависело от пилота. Ввести единый стандарт для коробок передач.
  • На 90% сократить аэродинамическое прижимающее усилие.
  • Ввести единого для всех команд производителя покрышек.

По мнению Мосли, Формула-1 не сможет выжить, если не изменит курс своего развития.

О сказал, что этот вид автоспорта «развелся с реальностью», и что в нем сотни людей работают «над вещами, которые публика никогда не видит и даже энтузиасты ничего не знают», в то время, как расходы непомерно растут.

В заявлении FIA говорится, что расходы производителей можно сократить на 90% без ущерба зрелищности автогонок, при условии «тесного и рационального сотрудничества».

«Даже без такого сотрудничества FIA должна сократить расходы по меньшей мере до такого уровня, который соответствовал бы возможностям независимых команд. Если нам не удастся это сделать, то мы потеряем независимые команды», — сказано в заявлении.

«Если же расходы останутся на нынешнем уровне или, что еще хуже, в ближайшие 10 лет продолжат расти теми же темпами, что и в последние 10, то мы рискуем не только потерять независимые команды но и менее успешные команды крупных автопроизводителей», — считает FIA.

«В результате на стартовой решетке будут „неформульные“ болиды или, возможно, произойдет полный крах чемпионата», — говорится в документе.

Заявление FIA сделано на фоне серьезного политического конфликта и борьбы за коммерческий контроль над Формулой-1.

Команда Ferrari подписала соглашение о продолжении своего участия в гонках Формулы-1 после окончания срока действия нынешнего Договора о согласии — секретного документа, привязывающего команды к этому автоспорту до конца 2007 года.

Однако остальные производители отказались присоединяться к переговорам о будущем Формулы-1 между FIA и Ferrari, а также заявили, что в 2008 году могут организовать собственный чемпионат.

FIA предложила командам и производителям прокомментировать новые предложения до 31 июля.
